We begin by conducting a face-to-face meeting, either in person or via video conference. In this meeting, we strive to get to know you, your family, your current financial situation, your goals for the future and any challenges you may face on the path toward achieving a successful retirement. 

Through a series of follow-up calls, we begin taking inventory of all your accounts, assets, insurance policies, investments and more. It’s only once we truly understand where you stand today that we can help you get to where you want to be in the future.

Using the information gathered in Step 1, we begin drafting a preliminary financial plan and retirement strategy as a starting point for future discussions. We meet again to present you with our ideas, ask for your input and make any necessary changes to ensure we fully address your current and future needs. 

 

Once you are fully comfortable with and informed about your financial plan, we take the necessary steps to implement it. This includes coordinating asset transfers and making any necessary adjustments to your portfolio’s asset allocation. We walk you through any paperwork and help ensure a smooth transition. Now, you’re up and running!

The implementation of your financial plan is just the beginning of our relationship. Ongoing, we continuously monitor your investment performance, progress toward your goals and any life changes that may necessitate a modification to your plan. We proactively recommend adjustments as necessary due to your personal financial situation, changing goals, economic factors and market forces. 

We continue to meet with you on a regular basis in order to remain informed about your life and goals, and to review your financial progress.

BRETT WINGATE

Brett, along with his wife, Autumn, co-founded The Wingate Group, Inc. in 2018. Brett serves as the General Agent and Senior Advisor for the firm. Brett has over 25 years management and leadership experience and has a master’s degree in business and organizational management. He has been recognized as a top advisor and manager by some of the best companies in the financial industry. Brett is also a multi-year MDRT qualifier, which is a highly recognized achievement that illustrates his dedication to clients.

Brett works with individuals and business owners by offering holistic financial planning, retirement income planning, investment management, and business success planning. Brett enjoys spending his time-off traveling with his family, hunting, fishing, or golfing.

ROB HUGHES

Rob has a passion for helping others and brings 20 years of accounting, finance, and management experience to our group. Rob has a bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from Auburn University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Chadron State.

Rob is a MDRT (Million Dollar Round Table) qualifier and has been recognized as a President’s Club Leader with Ameritas. Rob grew up in Milton and has been married to his wife Shauna since 2003. They have two boys, Trey and Trent. He is an avid outdoorsman and loves Auburn Football.

Scott Brooks

Scott possesses over 16 years of invaluable experience in the financial services sector, fortified by a master’s degree in business management. He has held pivotal advisory and leadership roles across risk management, insurance, and enterprise banking giants, showcasing a profound understanding of the industry’s intricacies.

Distinguished as an MDCM qualifier, Scott epitomizes dedication to exceptional client service, valuing each relationship with a grounded, down-to-earth approach. His expertise spans holistic financial advice, encompassing life insurance planning, retirement income succession planning, and business success planning, all while diligently crafting the best tax minimization strategies for his client’s benefit.

Outside the financial arena, Scott finds joy in family, travel, hunting, skiing, hiking and being outdoors. 

NEAL AVERY

I am a 23-year veteran in this business and currently reside in Orlando, FL. I am an MDRT qualifier with over 20 leadership qualifications. I currently am licensed in MS, AL, TN, GA, and FL.

TIM TAYLOR

As a Certified financial coach and R&D Tax Credit consultant for nearly 40 years, I have been an advocate for American taxpayers, educating small to medium size businesses as well as individuals by using the IRS tax codes on how to live a tax-exempt life. We “FIND MONEY”…their money.

We take a holistic approach by using some of the oldest strategies known to turn tax-deferred money into tax-free money helping American taxpayers to get out of debt and build wealth faster.

I live in the Midwest with my beautiful wife Kris and we have 4 beautiful daughters. We now have 9 grandchildren added to our family! We are active in our church, and we love the many outdoor activities our area has to offer as well as time with family and friends. When I am not working or playing with the grandchildren (My Superhero name is Papa). I love to hunt and go shooting.

RYAN LANGLEY

I’m a US Marine Corps Veteran and a native of Brewton, Alabama where me and my beautiful wife also live. I have over 20 years management experience and 10 years in the financial industry. I’m a team player, I love helping people, spending time with my family, and teaching kids about the outdoors the way my grandparents taught me.

PAUL RONHOVDE

With over 30 years in the financial services industry, from owning his own wealth management office to leading the growth of a national RIA to over $3B in assets, Paul has partnered with Brett and The Wingate Group to provide individuals and businesses holistic planning to help them reach their dreams.

In his spare time, he enjoys time with his wife Sandi, 3 children, 4 grandchildren and a “handful” of a border collie Bisket. He enjoys playing and captaining a couple USTA tennis teams and golfing when time permits.

ERIN WILMER

Erin is a native of Pensacola, FL, a graduate of Booker T. Washington high school and alumni of Southern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in Workforce Education & Development. 

Erin is a retired Navy Chief with 24 years of Honorable Service. She is also a three-time recipient of the National Defense Wartime Service Medal for service during Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. 

After her retirement she immediately started her financial career with Edward Jones Investments in 2012. After 10 years of dedicated service, she started her own firm, The Wilmer Financial Group Incorporated. Her office is located in the historical district of downtown Pensacola, FL. She is a strategic partner with The Wingate Group Incorporated where she oversees their Wealth Management Division.

She and her husband, Steve, married in 1998. Steve is an entrepreneur and president of The Risk Advisor Institute, a corporate training company. Both Steve and Erin are published authors, licensed and ordain ministers and motivational speakers. They have 4 children: Judah, Josiah, Joi and Jayna and their pet boxer, Ali. 

Erin actively serves her community on several boards and organizations, Impact100 Global Veterans, Impact100 Pensacola, National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Perdido Key Chamber of Commerce Board Member and Committee Chair for Military Affairs. She spearheads The Annual Star-Spangled Salute: A Tribute to Active and Retired military members and their dependents. She has been an active member of Pensacola Life Church for over 10 years.

Erin enjoys all types of music, and her favorite place of leisure is the beach. She is an encourager and servant to all who she comes in contact with. She began a daily morning devotion on Facebook live in 2020 to help her family and friends navigate through the pandemic. Erin’s burning desire is to educate individuals on the importance of investing and preparing for their future. Erin strives to provide exceptional customer service and proficient advice you can trust.
